Echoes of Doom energize resources are given in disproportionate amounts, you always have way more Crystalline items than the Magic Elixir, and even the shop doesn't help that much.
As an example, in Stage 4 you get 1x Crystalline item and 1-2x Magic Elixir per challenge, while it requires 22x Crystalline and 220x Magic Elixir per node. The ratios are clearly off; the requirement is 1:10, while the challenges give 1:1 or 1:2 at best.

This means that you will always have a severe lack of Magic Elixir, and the shop only remedies this by a small amount - you can only buy max 100 Magic Elixirs per day, which is not even half of what's needed for ONE node of Stage 4 Energize.
Assuming that you do the daily 10 challenges + buy the additional 25 challenges:
35x1 = 35 Crystalline items;
35x2 = 70 Magic Elixir + 100 Magic Elixir from the shop = 170 Magic Elixir daily (best scenario - always rolling 2x ME per challenge, which is HIGHLY unlikely to happen)

Like I previously said, one Stage 4 node requires 22x Crystalline + 220 Magic Elixir; we get 1.6x the needed amount of Crystalline, but AT BEST 0.77x single node's required Magic Elixir.

Requirements:
Stage 1 - 7x C + 25x ME = 1 : 3.6
Stage 2 - 9x C + 55x ME = 1 : 6.1
Stage 3 - 14x C + 110x ME = 1 : 7.9
... and so on.

Rewards:
Stage 1 - 1x C + 1x ME
Stage 2 - 1x C + 1x ME
Stage 3 - 1x C + 1-2x ME
... and so on.

There is an obvious bottleneck in Magic Elixirs.

There are two ways to solve this:
1) increase the Magic Elixir given by each level of challenges, e.g.
Stage 1 = 2-3 Magic Elixir
Stage 2 = 4-5 Magic Elixir
Stage 3 = 6-7 Magic Elixir
And so on.

2) decrease the required amount of Magic Elixir to be more in line with the resources acquired from challenges, e.g.
Stage 1 = 7x C + 10x ME
Stage 2 = 9x C + 15x ME
Stage 3 = 14x C + 25x ME

This accounts for the Stage Completion rewards which give Magic Elixir, as even 3x ME at Stage 1 is not enough by itself to be in perfect balance with the Crystalline items (the ratio being 1 : 3.6).

In case of any excess resources you can always sell them for Treasure Pieces, so even the guys with XXb BR who can breeze through Hard Mode won't be left with useless items in their inventory.

The resource imbalance is obviously done on purpose to encourage players to recharge to speed up things.

  • This isn't about slowdowns, this is about bottlenecks. You get a lot more of one resource compared to the other, and recharging only remedies it somewhat. But even so, that is a horrible way to design gameplay - based only on max recharge, which is what this seems to be. If you cash on every event that gives ME then maybe you would have an equal amount of both resources, but that is just so wrong.
    Anima's Path has the same basic structure (2 different resources required per node) but I have not observed such an imbalance there.

We already had at least 3 threads about the very same topic before Magix Elixir was put in the shop.
Now it really seems to be fine.
We need 1344 Crystalline and 14160 Magic Elixir for phases 1-6, and there is enough ME available to complete that in less than 90 days.
Sell the excess Crystalline and dont think about the drop ratio too much.

Btw how do you get 25 additional attempts per day? I can get 20 with diamonds only.

  • Higher VIP level gives more buy attempts. you are vip0 so total only 10 10

  • It's really not. I'm always missing a lot of ME, and the only way to get them is by recharging a lot, and even then only on specific events.

  • Its not very elegant. I totally agree with you. I did the same math when it got released and was heavily irritated by the strange droprate.
    After all, this game is built on bait offers. They make it look incomplete to have people charge up.
    But as we can indeed get enough resources to upgrade the Divine Edge in an acceptable time, i think its just fine to sell the excess Crystalline to the shop.
