I have  been told that the only worship buffs that work are HP, PATK and Agility. Is this true? Also, I was told that the only Angel Essence gems that work is ATK and that the other ones (hit,agil,crit and crit damage) do ther things. This doesn't make sense to me so I am hoping that you can clarify for me.

All Angel Buff are working to my best of knowledge. Some can be easily shown in battle as you mentioned (HP,atk, agi) some can't be calculate so player thought they are not working like (dmg reduction and crit) but they still play their part in battle.
Also, For Angel Essence, Many confused how they actually works, All essence increase the stats of Angel (atk, agi, hit, crit, crit dmg) not the stats of heroes directly and more stronger your guardian angel will be, the more stats it would give to its heroes(Note: Guardian Angel only give HP, atk and Def stats to heroes) You can also see it by scrolling the mouse on hero in guardian angel tab(it will show how much stats that guardian angel will give to that hero)
