Occupy - Hiding a Lord

Someone mentioned another method besides taking shelter. I think for times when you can't login to the game frequently enough, called Occupy. You somehow occupy a space far from your camp so that someone searching for you will not likely find you to take you prisoner. Can someone explain this, and /or what the occupy button is for when you click on an open space?

Also it's better to have that army troops in the occupied spot depart from that location and go to another spot. like a rally point or allied invasion
