what is the point of waiting when the rally is full?

My alliance is running the rally and it gathers all troops available: 283450/283450. No more can arrive. But we all have to wait for the remaining 10minutes. Why can't the rally start immediately when it is full?

The timer of a rally is set to allow players that send troops from a certain distance to reach the base. The rally can only start when the timer hits 00:00

Dear Player,

It is a set time in case you come back one of the troops and you need another one to enter its place, I explain myself with an example, if you only need troops T3 or T2 and one of your allies sends T1, you need to return them so that another one enters or modifies the army that sent you.

Isn't there a speed up that you can buy for diamonds? Is that just to quicken the march time of the rally or is it to hasten the waiting time before the rally could start?

The timer is fixed and cannot be changed. That's a set mechanic of the game, though through researches, there are many things that can improve the quality of life of your Rallies!
