Old Mini-Client still works fine!? (Windows XP /Vista, simpler)

Update 7/17: Starting about 7/15 21:00 GMT the Micro-Browser on 3 Computers does not work anymore. This problem is reported by many other users in LOA micro browser doesnt connects. After login only some seconds later i am logged out again or the game cannot be started. I hope this is only temporarily. But at 8/27 it still does not work so the problem will probably not be fixed.

The old Mini-Client v1.2.3 (LoA Micro-Browser) still works fine and under Windows XP and Vista is the only possibility since GTArcade Desktop needs Windows 7 or higher.
It also starts faster than GTArcade Desktop and is much simpler - just the game. So it is useful even under Windows 7 or higher, especially on slow computers or with many accounts / chars.
But you should be aware that there is no more support for it. So it is possible that sometime it does not work anymore. But the last version is 3 years old (see below). So there is hope.

Topics of the following informations and tips are:

1. Install: Download from
http://static.gtarcade.net/micro_client/mm2/loa2/LoA2.exe
and start this. It always installs to C:\LoA2. You have to create a shortcut manually in Start menu or on Desktop.
After install it shows Version v1.1.5 (program files from 2016-09-29). When you start the game first time it updates some data to Version v1.2.3, working at least until 2019-07-15

2. Languages: Choose language version by clicking on the Flag: English, 2 Chinese, Francais, Deutsch.
3. Login: On Login enter
- the mail adress only with small letters
- and the password manually (no copy and paste)
Otherwise and on wrong inputs you may get the confusing message "connection timed out".

4. File Location: The program files are always installed to C:\LoA2. Also most data files are stored there. They include the Shockwave Flash programs (.swf files), many graphics files and other objects. Location of the Cache you find under 5.
5. Start Problems (Clear Cache): When the Client does not start you should first clear the Cache Directory LOA2 (not C:\LoA2!):
This depends on your Windows version and languge.
- Under Windows XP you need to locate the AppData directory of the user which is currently logged in (Anwendungsdaten on german systems). Maybe you need to turn on the display of hidden files and folders in the options.
- Inside this is a directory named LOA2. It has only big letters unlike the Program directory C:\LoA2!
- You may just search for a directory LOA2 in drive C: (or the Windows System Drive)
- Delete the directory LOA2, not C:\LoA2 in the root directory!
- If you are not sure just rename Cache Directory LOA2 to LOA2.bak or similar. Then a new LOA2 should be created. If Mini-Client works again you can delete LOA2.bak
If clearing Cache does not help on your problem then you might reinstall the game like in 6.
6. Reinstall: If clearing Cache like in 5. does not help on problems you may also delete or rename the program directory C:\LoA2 and reinstall the program again like in 1.

7. Rewards: With Mini-Client you get the Speed+ Rewards (Fading Dia + Gold). But all others rewards from GTArcade Desktop are not available.
8. Parallel Usage: You may use Mini-Client parallel to GTArcade Desktop or Browser. This makes sense if you have many accounts and do not want to logout and in again so often. Then you could use Mini-Client for 1 account
9. CPU usage: a disadvantage of the Mini-Client is that the CPU usage is nearly the same when minimized. A Browser window that is minimized or in background uses far less CPU power (can be seen with Windows Task Manager: [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[Esc]). This is important when you let a Char run for a long time in backround like with Little Helper X-Server War or 2 Chars running. GTArcade Desktop seems to behave similar than Micro-Browser and not reduce CPU usage when minimized.

10. Game Auto-Start: The Game starts at once if you do not close the game window, only the Client. This is fine if you always use the same account and server. Otherwise first close the game window with the cross in the top right corner, then the Client. This way on next start you can choose the server or login another account.
11. Former Online Bug: For a long time the Mini-Client had the bug that if you only closed the game but not the Client the player was still shown as Online for a long time. This seems to be fixed on server side.

Hi, wondering if you know how to make my miniclient not automatically start the game when I open it.
Can be annoying because if I don't keep it in focus, it opens 2 windows or loads the wrong server.
