I'd like to suggest you enable an option for us to recycle our equipment and get the materials used to forge (or enhance) them back. This could be easily implemented and it would cost Wash stones or blue diamonds or another type of special resource (you could also create a "recycle equipment" technology I don't know).
The reality is that many of us start the game as clueless newbies and end up forging equipment we no longer have any need. This could mean we'd be able to adapt our equipment to better suit our current way of playing.
