The design of the new event allows players to request other players to strip / drop heros to permit friends to advance -- so becomes a game of who you know versus merit.  


I have been getting requests myself to help people I know and am uncomfortable with it -- don't feel it is fair to help some people and not others.  I also don't feel comfortable requesting others to give me an advantage either.

I believe the event should be modified to prevent this kind of activity -- perhaps lock oponent builds in when the event is initially launched (clone them) so they are static throughout the event and apply the increasing boosts to those initial stats when challnged.  Otherwise the event will continue to be skewed.

Hi Shanra,

I will pass your concerns on, but I do not believe that what you are suggesting is even possible. Every detail of a player's build and setup would have to be locked in on day before the event starts (effectively doubling the data stored), and no player would even be able to adjust their party or even change sylphs etc strategically to combat different opponent builds... Plus, every other PVP event in the game is also open to player's adjusting their build (including 'stripping down') already.

Hi

Thanks -- not suggesting you lock in the people challenging but rather than have dynamic opponents (allowing people to strip, changing heros when friends are challenging them as an opponent in the event) have a cloned set of opponents set at the time the event initiates.  Allow players to adjust their own builds in response but have a set opponent list so can't modify builds to allow friends to win against them and advance.   

Understand that my proposed solution may not be possible given the programming challenges.  Is there some other way to avoid the issue?   Event needs some kind of modification to address the issue.

I see people who are in top 5 in com stuck in the mid-600's directly as a result of this where other players are advancing well beyond because of who they know.

Hi again,

well it is a new feature (though only new for us at LoA1 as this one was imported from LoA2 I believe) and all feedback will be passed on...

I'm stuck in the mid-600s myself so I do understand what you mean, but again, every other PVP feature in the game (including but not limited to : CS-Tournament, Champion Showdown, Alliance Expedition, Volatile Battlefields, even CS-CoM) all leave the possibility of player's stripping to help their friends... I don't believe the developers will see any particular reason to rewrite this event when they were happy with that practise in all the others, but we will pass on your feedback.

I am totally agreed with this author.  There need to have a lock mechanism in place to prevent this stripping in the expedition.  Why not ask devs to set cloned opponents.  Set them as static opponents like that of god trial and asgard world tree during the expedition.  Let be fair to all and let them earn their ranking by merit instead of who they know.

dually noted, but not sure much can be done as far as locking in stats. As mentioned by my fellow team member this information is being complied and forwarded to the devs for further review.
