Avidsecho Guide to Hero Recruitment Reply:5| View:6344

||Knight\'s Fable v1.2
||Hero Recruitment Guide v1.2
by avidsecho

        [What is a Character?]
At the beginning of the game, you will be given a choice to choose from 4 different avatars namely - Knight, Magi, Fighter and Spiritus. The avatar you\'ve chosen is your Character.

        [What is a Hero?]
A Hero or Heroine is one of your vital companions in battle. Allowing heroes to assist you in battles greatly increases your battle capabilities (aka Battle Rating) thus proportionally increases your chance of winning.

        [What is Hero Recruitment?]
Basically allows you to choose heroes to add in your party. You could also check the Helper for a more detailed explanation. The Helper menu would show up once your lvl30 or above (forgot the exact level :| ).

[Disambiguation of Heroes according to Quality]
Heroes can be subdivided into 4 types according to quality:
        1. White (Common)
        2.  Green(Superior)
3. Blue (Epic)
4. Violet (Flawless)
5. Gold (Legendary)

White -> Green -> Blue -> Violet -> Gold (from weakest to strongest)

Note: This color hierarchy is also applied to others features of the game, not only in heroes. And there\'s no white colored hero if you\'re wondering.

[Disambiguation of Heroes according to Types (Stats)]
Heroes can be subdivided into 4 types according to which stats they excel:

1. Iron (Physical-Based Tanker) - highest PDEF/MDEF, lowest MATK
2. Blood (Physical-Based Attacker) - highest PATK, lowest MDEF
3. Spirit (Magical-Based Attacker) - highest MATK, lowest HP, lowest PDEF*
4. Divine (Magical-Based Tanker) - highest HP, lowest PATK, lowest PDEF*

*Both have the same scale in terms of PDEF.
Tip: With the above information, you can see which stats are best to upgrade in Totem. You can play by strengths and upgrade to +9 the ones with the highest value for that hero (i.e. PDEF/MDEF Totem for Iron Heroes, and so on) and upgrade the second best stat to +6 (since you can only get a total of +15 in all totems). Otherwise you can fill up their weakness and create a balanced hero.

Note: The images above show 4 same quality yet different types of heroes for comparison purposes. Notice each heroes difference in HP, PATK, MATK, DEF, and MDEF.

If you compare a character to a hero based on their native stats, then

Knight = Iron = physical based tanker
Blood = Fighter = physical based attacker
Magi = Spirit = magical based attacker
Spiritus = Divine = magical based tanker

Note: This guide will NOT cover how you train your heroes.

[Which heroes are best to recruit?]

There are a good number of combination you can build your team and depends solely which path you want to take. The most balanced team line-up in my opinion would be:

1) 1 Tanker (either physical based or magical based);
2) 1 Physical Attacker (either Fighter/Blood); and
3) 1 Magical Attacker (either Spirit/Magi)

or

1) 2 Frontal Tankers (1 physical based or magical based); and
2) 1 Rear Damage Dealer (1 physical/magical based attacker)

This is supported by the Recruit Heroes hero recruitment tooltip:

Knights, Spiritus are best to recruit Blood or Spirit Heroes; Fighters, Magi are best to recruit Iron or Divine Heroes.

If you read all the information above, then the above lines makes sense. However, it\'s totally up to you whether you\'re going pure physical attacker team(Fighter/Blood/Blood), pure magic-based tanker team (Spiritus/Divine/Divine) or something else.

[What level can I start recruiting heroes?]
You can start recruiting heroes as soon as you can enter Eastcrest (Lvl20-30) town.

[How many heroes can join the battle?]
Regardless of VIP level, all players can only simultaneously use 2 heroes per given battle.

[What is the maximum number of heroes I can recruit?]
Regardless of VIP level, all players can recruit a maximum of 10 heroes.

[How does Recruit Heroes works?]
1. Enter a town/city and talk to Barmaid NPC.

For Eastcrest (Lv20-30), talk to Barmaid - Jessy.
For Cargill (Lv30-40), talk to Barmaid - Mary.
For Ovelston (Lv40-50), talk to Barmaid - Babi.
For Cadigal (Lv50-60), talk to Barmaid - Dolly.
For Andrania (Lv60-70), talk to Barmaid - Kali.

Note: Notice that each tavern has different sets of recruit-able heroes in Drawing the cards (viewable on the top of the Recruit window) and in Exchange window. The higher level the town tavern is, the better the heroes. If you\'re looking for Tiffany (latest released hero), she\'s in Eastcrest or Cargill.

        2. Click the Recruit or Refresh button on the lower-right corner of the frame. This will shuffle 5 face-up hero cards of various qualities and types. Note that each day reset, you will have 1 free refresh. The rest will consume silver. The amount depends on your level, I assume.

        3. If you want don\'t want to recruit any of the shown heroes or you\'re just stacking reputation then choose Refresh. Otherwise click Draw.

4. By clicking Draw, the before face-up cards will be shuffled face-down. Click a face-down card to continue.

        5. Don\'t forget to click Recruit right on the middle of the card you\'ve picked(not the other Recruit I\'m mentioning a while ago) or else you\'re recruitment process will not be over. All luck ran out as the Time until Refresh (which interval is 2 Hours) went 0 without you clicking the recruit button (as shown below). Luckily, you will get the hero you want. Otherwise, just keep spending millions of silver. Yeah, millions.

[What is reputation?]
Reputation allows you to either exchange it for Legendary and Flawless heroes, or exchange it for Wisdom.

[How do I gain reputation?]
For each refresh, a Flawless hero will give 2 reputation while a Legendary will give 4 reputation.

If 2 Flawless heroes appeared, you will gain 4 reputation. Likewise if there is 2 Flawless heroes and 1 Legendary hero, then you will gain 8 reputation.

        [How do I exchange reputation?]

        1. Open the Hero Recruit and look on the lower-right corner Exchange. Click to open a new panel.

        2. You can exchange your reputation for either Hero Exchange or Wisdom Exchange as shown below.
        or

[Is there an advantage for being a VIP?]
Yes. For being VIP 3, you can draw to 2 heroes at the same time. For being VIP 5 or above, you can draw 3 heroes at the same time!

[What is Ultra Refresh?]
Ultra Refresh automates the whole process 50 times. It is similar to the Beast Explore\'s Bulk feature. However, if a Legendary hero showed up, then Ultra Refresh will stop. For instance, if a Legendary Hero showed up at 3rd refresh then Ultra Refresh will stop.

Avidsecho Guide to Hero Recruitment

        ||Knights Fable v1.2
        ||Hero Recruitment Guide v1.2
        ||Part 2
        by avidsecho

[How to get a free Flawless Hero]
On your first time recruiting in the town of Eastcrest (Lv20-30), Barmaid-Jessy, there would be a short tutorial on how to recruit a hero. The trick here is to remember which position does the Flawless hero shows up before shuffling because the cards would not shuffle. Instead of picking the one where the arrow in pointing (which is constantly on the middle), pick the face-down card where you remembered the Flawless is positioned. And boom, free purple hero. Sadly, her Special Skill (1st skill slot) would be blank but it\'s better than using Angel (default Blue hero). Lastly, this would only work on your first time recruiting and would be probably be fixed on a future game update.

This works for me about 2 instances so if this doesn\'t work for others then please send me a message or reply to the thread.

[How do I know which hero is available in each town?]
You can check them at the top-most area of the Hero Recruit panel (Legendary heroes only) or by checking Hero Exchange.

[What heroes are there in each town via Drawing?]
For Eastcrest (Lv20-30), we have Graeme, Tiffany, Chet and Verus.
For Cargill (Lv30-40), we have Graeme, Tiffany, Chet and Verus.
For Ovelston (Lv40-50),;we have Graeme, Tiffany, Chet and Verus.

For Cadigal (Lvl50-60), we have Berserk Rogue, Perseus, Demon and Good Templar.
For Andrania (Lv60-70), we have Great Lancer, Merlin, Detached Horseman, and Conflicted Werewolf
For Firewake Cavern (Lv70-80), we have Heran and Eternal Scythe

[What heroes are there via Battle Shrine Prestige?]
Gain certain Titles by racking up Prestige points in Battle Shrine and get rewarded with legendary heroes:

For Demon (Legendary, Spirit) - gain 100,000 prestige (or the Defender title)
For Good Templar (Legendary, Divine) - gain 150,000 prestige (or the Duelist title)
For Conflicted Werewolf (Legendary, Divine) - gain 200,000 prestige (or the Gladiator title)
For Detached Horseman (Legendary, Blood)- gain 250,000 prestige (or the Legionnaire title)
For Hades (Legendary, N/A) - gain 400,000 prestige (or the Captain title) (Side note: Hero doesn\'t exist yet in the game)

[What heroes are there via Hero Exchange?]
For Eastcrest (Lv20-30) to Ovelston (Lvl40-50):
Glazer (Legendary, Blood, reputation needed: 400)
Pandora (Legendary, Divine, reputation needed: 420)
Caran (Flawless, Iron, reputation needed: 110)
Orchid (Flawless, Divine, reputation needed: 110)
Agamemnon (Flawless, Blood, reputation needed: 100)
Faraja (Flawless, Spirit, reputation needed: 100)

Once you\'ve reached Cadigal (Lvl50-60), two heroes would be added:

Lancelot (Legendary, Iron, reputation needed: 1500)
Wise Duelist (Legendary, Spirit, reputation needed: 1500)

Once you\'ve reached Andrania (Lv60-70), two heroes would be added:
Ragged Stormer (Legendary, Blood, reputation needed: 3000)
Lilith (Legendary, Iron, reputation needed: 3000)

Once you\'ve reached (Lv70-80), two heroes would be added:

Graybeard (Legendary, Blood, reputation needed: 4400)
Tarki (Legendary, Divine, reputation needed: 5000)

If you like to see their special skills, visit requinox thread - http://community.gtarcade.com/post/index/id/17599/?last=last

With the current version of Knights Fable (1.2), a new hero is available at the Cross Arena\'sGlory Shop:
Sigurd (Legendary, Iron, glory needed: 150000)  (Side note: His Phoenix Ore special skill rocks.)

        [What is Hero List?]
Hero List shows all the legendary heroes available in the game. If you rest your mouse pointer or hover over the hero icon, then you can see the quality, type, special skill, skill effect, initial BR, condition to get, location and basic info/description. It\'s basically all you need to know about the hero before getting it.

Once you\'ve seen them in Hero Exchange or via Drawing/Refreshing, then that hero will be marked as Seen. Heroes with Recommended are the current best heroes to recruit, in other words, they have the highest initial BR and growth rate than those not stamped with recommended.

Since the essential information about the hero can already be found on the Hero List, then I decided to not include them in the guide so that you can explore the game more.
