Who copied who? Reply:9| View:2490
        Good evening,

I will explain the situation, what I found out today: While playing Knight\'s Fable, which is a great game, I noticed that the systems are similar to the game League of Angels from R2games... Meanwhile, I found my way to the offical website and by exploring the site, I see the game League of Angels, this time from GTarcade...
        Who copied who or why are there 2 different platform for 1 game?;

Who copied who?

I don\'t know the proper term for it but I don\'t think they copied. More like they are authorized distributors of the game. We\'re gonna need someone with more entrepreneurial skills to explain why there are 2 platforms in one game.

Who copied who?

Its not copied game, its the game genre/type. In other words, both League of Angel(LOA) and Knights fable share the same genre ( turn based strategy ), however the gameplay system is different.
In LOA, we can use 3 heroes and 1 character and the Beast in LOA is actually a beautiful angels! The angel is really kicking ass in the game lols

Who copied who?

Yeah I know LoA very well, I played it for mounth, since R2games released the french version of it. that was around January. I was also GM there, but quitted both, game and GM, because of the several bugs, which made that game unplayable. And also it was an very expensive game.
But what I was taking about, is that there are 2 platforms for League of Angels. But I think that LoA original version is from GTarcade, and R2 have just translate into several languages. (American, french, german, japanese)

Who copied who?

Well LOA&KF here on gtarcade belong to YOUZO.

This info may be false, going off my knowledge: from gaming knowledge, tech ways to host the same games without a lawsuit is basicly, if 1 or more things are different then another version of it. its not copyright, but a completely different allowed version.  Example Chinese vs this American version for knights fable. Extreme differences and both allowed.   So maybe that\'s why theres multiple versions of the same game even if each are in English?

Who copied who?

they either owned or publish by same companyknight fable is successor of loaif u didn\'t understand what that means, you can consider Knight Fable as Sequel game of LoAsimply as that, as for R2 and GTarcadeboth of them are the publisherjust like books, or movies.a product need company to publish that product into the market.however, according to website (GTarcade website) GTarcade also developer of the game (Our english version) of knight fable.Correct me if i\'m wrong.

Some game developers do not have the needed resources to host and spread a game.
these game developers will then (for a price) allow other companies to host, modify and spread the games for them.
this is why u will see games hosted by a variety of companies.

since these companies will want the players to come to them instead of a different hosting company they\'ll try to adjust the game in a way they think players will want.
R2Games does this by translating the servers into several languages.
(i\'ve been a GM at r2 aswell, just in dragonpals)
R2Games works on the Lease-a-game prinicples.. they don\'t buy all the rights to the game, just the hostiong and spreading rights. all modifications and updates are done by the original developer.

the above described methods make for alot of fame (and fortune) for what might be just a developers office consisting of 3-4 people, without the need of advertising, they continue to make new games or improve existing games...

Who copied who?

        Interesting Question
Before I answer ur question, let me give u 1 example
Search Kings and Legends, Rise of Mythos, Ancient Summoners
3 different names from 3 different companies but they\'re same game
Crystal Saga (R2Games) has different names in other browser site but same game (I don\'t remember exactly, something Saga).
Bottom Line: No company copy others. All of these games (including Knight Fable) is Chinese games and they buy (or share which I don\'t know) the version and translate to English (modify a bit different).
You may ask :So they know each other?
Yes they do.  R2 knows GTA and GTA knows R2 as well.  You can ask Mod (Jelly).  There is actually another site which is imigame.com (Jennifer Ong - Devilish is from that site)
