CSA glory
There are about 4 scenarios I can see here, but NONE explain why it\'s taken almost a week without any update (other than claiming it will be fixed today when it hasn\'t been).
1) All of our points are still intact, but something has caused our characters to gain a different identifier in CSA than we were getting before. This would explain why our points and glory reset to the start values of 1200/0, but doesn\'t explain why different people had this issue on different days. Nian *might* explain it, if it\'s causing the new ID to be allocated.
This should be a relatively easy fix assuming some record of those identifiers exists.
2) One of the data load errors happens at the same time as an attempt to add glory to our characters\' CSA records, and the resulting conflict in the database causes the characters\' log of CSA points to become locked/inaccessible, hence displaying as 0. Again explains the points reset, doesn\'t explain how we can gain points starting at 0 again, though.
3) Like 2, but the data load error results in the deletion of the entire character\'s record of CSA games. This is;impossible;to repair without a backup of the CSA points/recrods (either as an archive table or a serparate backup file), but easy to fix if such a backup exists (and should not take 4 days, frankly, as an SQL developer I know this is doable in about 6 hours.)
Would explain all symptoms of the current bugs.
4) The death scenario. All of our CSA records have been wiped from the servers that we play on, and nothing remains that would be able to link our characters to the pre-problem identifiers that link us to the CSA part of the database (which may or may not be intact.) This shouldn\'t happen if proper standards have been followed when linking the two things, but the data load errors suggest a deeper issue in any event.
This would be fixable;only;by a total server rollback to the state that it was in prior to the first occurrence of the bug (which I\'m guessing would annoy as many people as it would help), as it would be impossible to rebuild the CSA points records in this situation, regardless of whether the actual records of points exist in the first place.
All of that aside, my point is this - it should;not;take you 5 days or more to provide any information, when some of us are paying players, any fix should;not;take 5 days to implement in the first place, and not telling us anything about what\'s happening/what caused the problem is just shoddy customer service in the first place. Allowing people to continue to pay money for something that (based on the frequency of data load errors) is two or three mistimed table locks away from a total meltdown is borderline negligent.
