On Alt Abuse...

        Something I and my husband noticed while playing: Facebook connects to the GTArcade servers - however, even if you connect your GTArcade account to your Facebook account, you wind up with 2 different characters on one server. We both only use one of our characters we each wound up creating because of this, our highest level one - however, this is a problem with your game coding/servers that creates a legitimate alt. You might want to look into fixing it. Make it so that people can no longer do this. For those that already have 2 characters by this means, do one of two things: 1) delete the lowest-level character of the two; or 2) let the player choose which character he/she wishes to keep, and once chosen the other character is deleted. Then, whenever someone logs into Knights Fable from either platform, make sure that they can only use that one character. If nothing else, make it so that a player is unable to create a character to play with on one platform of connected accounts if they already have a character on the other platform on that same server from here on out. I know that if you log into one platform, it logs you out of the other - however, this does not work if you are using 2 different browsers. It may only be Chrome that allows this, but I will post a screenshot for you, so that you can see it. I just logged into my old Facebook KnightsGlory (S2) character on Google Chrome, while still being logged into the character that I always use here on Mozilla Firefox - and am still logged into both:
       
        Zynga does this, their website platform connects the games to the Facebook platform. No matter which platform you log in to you are logging into the same character, as long as their website platform and your Facebook are connnected - so, I know the coding is possible. You just have to research it a bit, and figure out how to fix your website coding.
        I had started here on GTArcade, and when my husband saw me playing and wanted to join me, he went to it through Facebook. The little extras you can get by playing on Facebook are nice, so I went to try and play my character on Facebook - and wound up having to create a whole new character to play there. At first, I thought that, even though the server name was the same, they were different servers - until I got far enough to notice that alot of the characters on there were the same. This is how I learned about this back when KnightsGlory (S2) opened in June of 2014. I always thought it might be an easy way for people to abuse the game with alt-creation, so now that you are cracking down on it, I figure I\'d better bring it up. I know alot of people will be cross with me, especially if you guys find a way to implement my suggestion - but, to crack down on alts, it is almost a necessity to do something about it.

        ...I know its a bit of a cheat, but it would be nice if those of us that wound up with 2 characters could have the inventories merged...lol. I know that would be cheating though, so I added this more for a laugh than anything else

        *sigh* I wonder if the mods ever actually read this suggestion about helping curb one of the ways of creating alts...
        Something big about trying to curb alting - if you have 2 people playing the game together, you will have multiple characters using the same IP address. I and my husband play together, as I mentioned in the original post - and as we play from the same internet, both accounts will appear to be being played from the same IP at the same time. This is one way of catching alts - but you have to take situations like ours into consideration when looking at this.

        Have logged the suggestion but I\'m kinda confused how this works. I know for a bi that Facebook and GTArcade are both different platforms that is why you have a different character or alt on that platform. Can you clarify that you are using 2 Facebook platforms from the 2 different browsers?
        Actually they\'ve done it before tracking IP addresses( i think on brewfrest?)
        Will let someone take a look into this (though it\'ll take long)

Not using 2 facebook platforms - one character is on facebook, the other is on the actual GTArcade website. I did state this in the original post, that one is on the website, the other on facebook. My GTA account is linked to my FB account...but they are and are not different platforms - if the the were different platforms, I would not see my FB account character on my GTA account character on S2. It is obvious that the are sort of different platforms - if they weren\'t, you wouldn\'t have 2 different characters. But seeing as how both characters are on the same exact server, and can even be in the same alliance on that server, they are on the same platform... the two platforms are linked somehow, only way that can happen. I did clarify that they are 2 different browsers, aerith - I stated that one is logged in on Firefox, the other on Chrome. It is the only way you can have both characters logged in at the same time... but it can be done, creating a perfect alt situation. I\'ll post another side-by-side showing the two characters on the same window.

        As promised, another screenshot. I circled my FB character on S2, Aislynn, in red, and my GTA character, Aidylasia, in blue. I also circled the person behind us in yellow, showing that it is definitely the same server - otherwise, would not have the same mounted character behind us on both. The browser on the left is Mozilla Firefox, that is my FB account. The browser on the right is Google Chrome, my GTA account. I also pasted the World Boss Event damage rankings after hitting it with my FB account, showing that both characters had participated in the same WB (circled their names). I don\'t use the Aislynn character anymore - I don\'t want to be accused of alting, even if I\'m not.
