Some thoughts on compensation/fixes (reposted on

Got a request to repost this one. resumably the second half is what was asked for? Original thread:;http://community.gtarcade.com/post/index/id/56912/?floor=21
Let me start by saying: if if I disagree with ghost on this one, I think he\'s earned his moment in the sun, and I find his proposal interesting... as well as wondering if he has further cards up his sleeve.;
Having said that: I think SQ would result in various problems. For one, it\'s no doubt a big issue for those few players who did win her legitimately. They\'d be messed over badly - though that could partially be remedied by a good swap offer, I suppose.
Second, while I\'ve never bothered to develop strategies for her (way above my paygrade), giving everyone the same big hero may result in a stale game where only a few builds are reasonable.
Third, if that\'s true, f2p won\'t benefit. They\'ll have a weaker version of the same build, which means automatic loss.
Fourth, much as f2p deserves a break, it\'s to me a separate topic to the cheating scandal. It may be a good opportunity to change the game for the better however, so if it takes this to improve the game, I won\'t hold that strongly against the proposal.
Fifth though, I prefer systemic solutions over simple fixes. My guess is if SQ is given to everyone, GTA will make her (and every existing build) obsolete in a few months time; that will serve no one, and least of all f2p\'s who don\'t have the resources to switch builds as easily. In that sense, yes, it is too much, and also too little.;As said, I nonetheless am curious how this will play out.;
As for my own views on compensation:
1) Those players badly affected (like those cheated out of SQ or loads of diamonds) should get their rewards or those diamonds back.; (see note at the end)
2) A strong solution against future hacking, that doesn\'t rely solely on GT employees. My suggestion is the long-time junior mods, to receive abilities to investigate players themselves, with some proper limitations to prevent abuse, and supermod oversight for the same reason.
3) I\'ll agree on Ghost\'s demand that bugs be fixed seeing as they did have the time to delete dozens of threads.
4) If we go this way, then lasting solutions to keep f2p competing. There are no easy fixes for that, but some basic suggestions:
a) Ways for anyone to obtain the royal marks needed to upgrade gear, or change that into a more available currency. Until implemented properly, this can be done through compensation-like methods.
b) HoC accessibility. Simplest solution would be a major increase in HoC vouchers given, and no new anti-f2p changes. F2p should be able to get a crest every 3 months or so, which is a long time to wait.
c) In line with the SQ proposal, I\'d have a different suggestion: give jokers/aces to every player, basically enough to get one or two hero crests of your choice (probably two minor crests or one of the best crests). For one, this is a compensation for the previous point having been ignored way too long. It\'s also something every player can use, that nobody will need feel cheated about. It\'s diverse, people can get whatever build they like. It should help loads of players to breach into the end game, perhaps keep a lot of them interested who would otherwise drop out. With that, far more players will be able to compete seriously, which by all means should be an improvement.
d) No changes that will make render current f2p builds obsolete overnight.
e) Revision of the newly added/changed events that are basically a total loss to f2p, so as to make it worthwhile events for any player.
Those would be suggestions that I think will do f2p as well as spenders a lot more good, particularly in the long run. I also think they\'re realistic, beneficial to the game itself, and would have little effect on how much people will spend, while encouraging competition.;
As said, I don\'t flame down Ghost\'s proposal for a variety of reasons, even if I think it\'s pretty bad. Much as I\'m sympathetic to him at this point, he seems to want GT to burn, while my objectives would be to get back the great game it was half a year ago. Different objectives, different solutions. Still, I will add that I will pick Ghost\'s solution over GT\'s likely solution of not doing anything.

Added note: I think Vhunter\'s post here (;http://community.gtarcade.com/post/57008/ ) is a good addition to #1.;
As always, commentary, suggestions and improvements are welcome. However with the large number of threads currently, I understand if mods decide to lock it at their discretion . I understand a mod requested it; I\'ll leave it in his hands.
Edit 2, response to feather: yeah, guess we had some communication going past each other... happens to players as well, I guess! As said, if no longer needed, this thread may be deleted.
