Disappearing Heroes

During about 50% of battles my heroes sprites/animations seem missing. Their idle animations for standing in place show perfectly, but any time they take action or are attacked by an enemy, their sprite disappears briefly until they are back to standing idle. Missiles and other animations from their abilities seem fine. This almost gives the impression that when my Green Ranger shoots, she actually transforms into the projectile. For some reason, my player himself has never been affected by this, only his heroes.

I have been experiencing this for quite some time, most if not all of my time playing this game.
