Lost glyphs when inserting second glyph...

I noticed this before, but thought I might have been wrong, but it happened again today and I know it was not an error this time...
I got a glyph from the Dungeon, I inserted it into the character Jewelry that has the spell it affects and the first glyph disappeared!
I have lost 2 other glyphs this way and thought it was my fault, but now think it is a bug.

It says at the bottom of the talisman glyph tab that there is a replacement rate and a fusion rate.

I saw that, I always thought that was a way to join similar types together to up their level.
So if I had 2 siren glyphs I could combine them to make a stronger version.
Really wish the devs would actually write out how these things work clearly instead of beta testing on users.
